Dawn Bode is the Surgery Discipline Manager

“I qualified as an RVN in 2004 and moved from my training practice to Scarsdale Vets the same year.  Here I am, nearly 18 years later, but now under the umbrella of IVC Evidensia. I’ve worked my way up from an RVN, to Senior RVN to list running prep and theatre caseloads and then taking more of an interest in surgery for the last 9 years and then finally becoming the ‘Surgery Discipline Manager’ in 2022.

I have a passion for any type of wound, which drove me to complete my certificate in wound management.  I really enjoy the busy caseload within the surgery team which allows me to have a close working relationship with all the clinicians, built on the trust and respect which gives me the ability to organise their schedule and to have an active part in dealing with all urgent and emergency referral requests and assisting with any advice emails.

With this knowledge I want to be a point of contact for referring vets needing assistance with referral or just asking general enquiries which may lead to a speedier response to assisting with the outcome of your referral. Advice emails will still continue to go through the current channels, but I want to be able to help the team deliver Gold Standard care to both clients and patients coming to ‘Pride Veterinary Referrals’.

This is a new diverse role, which will see me working alongside the Medicine and Neurology Discipline Managers. Any feedback from yourselves would be great to hear, this can be on any aspect that you feel would help assist you and us with ongoing referrals.”
